Pune : The much-awaited time of the year has come for the students of Engineering, MCM, MCS, MCA and all other computer related educational programs. The 9th edition of ‘SEED IT Idol, Pune - 2018’ organized by SEED Infotech Ltd. in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University is back to test their computer skills.
All colleges affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University are eligible for this competition. The round of approaching students in various colleges for the 1st Round Test has already begun in the city. While, the second round and final round with Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held on March 16
SEED IT Idol is a flagship initiative conducted by SEED Infotech Ltd. across the state of Maharashtra since past eight years and due to the very nature of the initiative most of the Universities in the state partner with this exercise in their jurisdiction and extend all possible support for taking it to maximum number of students.
The objective of the competition is to judge and reward the knowledge of a student for C Programming and Computer Fundamentals, make them aware of the job opportunities, requirement of skills, etc. in the IT industry and make them adept for competitive examinations for their future.
The format of SEED IT Idol is to conduct Round - 1 which is a 30-minute multiple choice test. Students selected from this round appear for the Round – 2, which will again be a pen paper test with increased difficulty level. Ten Finalists are selected from this round. They are invited on stage and must sit on the Hot Seat. This quiz is conducted with the help of specially created software for the same.
The topper of the competition is selected as the winner of ‘SEED IT Idol’. The winner along with the two runner ups are presented with latest technology gadgets like Smartphones, Hard disks, Charging Power Banks etc. along with discounts on SEED courses and SEED goodies. This is the format applicable across centers and the winners of all regional SEED IT Idols will compete for a ‘SEED Maha IT Idol’ scheduled to be held in Pune in the last week of March 2018.
Speaking about the initiative Bharati Barhate, Executive Director, SEED Infotech Ltd. said, “Our aim is to provide an opportunity to students for thinking out of the box and proving their talents and skills. We are thankful to Savitribai Phule Pune University for supporting us again in this edition with SEED IT Idol, as we feel that there is huge talent across colleges which need to be tapped and made industry ready.”
She added, “In Maharashtra, the SEED IT Idol initiative shall be undertaken in the cities like Pune, Mumbai, Baramati, Sangli, Solapur, Aurangabad, Nasik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nagpur, Dhule, Jalgaon, Ratnagiri and Ahmednagar.”
